Storing your Diamond Jewellery
If your diamond jewellery is for special occasions only and not something that you wear everyday Diamonds International recommend storing your diamond jewellery in a separate compartment of your jewellery box and wrap them in soft cloth. This will avoid your diamonds scratching each other as well as your other jewellery.
Protecting your Diamond Jewellery
It is natural to want to wear your diamond engagement ring and diamond wedding ring everyday, but it is also natural to worry that you may do damage to the diamonds. You can easily protect the diamond jewellery that you wear on your wrists and fingers just by being conscious and removing the pieces when you are going to take part in an activity that may expose your diamonds to an abrasive surface, for example, gardening or sport.
Even during the course of ordinary wear your diamonds are exposed to dirt, dust, pollution, perspiration, makeup, perfume, natural skin oils, as well as chemicals that you find in household cleaning products. These materials may not scratch your diamonds but over time they will build up and cloud your diamonds' natural beauty and brilliance. Household cleaners are also known to cause gold and platinum jewellery to discolour.
